The Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars, is the most highly-anticipated event in Hollywood as it is where recognition in film excellence are announced each year. This year the event will be held on March 7 capping the awards season of Hollywood. But first, the nominations will have to be announced. That will happen in less than twenty-four hours and every movie fans is keen awaiting the announcement.
Who will be snubbed this year? Every year, some "Oscar-worthy" work is snubbed by the voting members
of the Academy. It has happened to the best in Hollywood, and this year, there may be some names omitted from the nominees list. But let's not dwell on that but rather on the more positive outcome of the impending announcement. How many nods will Avatar have? Who will get the acting nods this year?

And the Oscar goes to... That is one of the most eagerly awaited announcements each year as the awards season in Hollywood comes to a close with the Academy Awards. This year, we are at the homestretch of the season and everybody is awaiting the announcement of this year's nominations.
How many nominations will Avatar get? How about The Hurt Locker? And with Kathryn Bigelow's recent win in the DGA, does this mean that she is the front runner in the Best Director category - a category that has never
been won by a woman? And what about in the acting categories: is Monique a shoo in for the Best Supporting Actress plum after sweeping (as far as I know) all the awards in that category this season? These will be answered in due time. But first let us find out who the nominees are this year for the 2010 Oscar race.
